Bestival will once again pivot due to the pandemic this year. Last year’s virtual video featured a variety of local musicians and is something we are very proud of. This year we will be doing some live programming, spread throughout the entire summer, rather than two days in September. We hope to present music for children and adults as well as some artistic ventures. The programming will be made possible through the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo as well as other sponsors and businesses. Reach out to us if you or your business would like to support us and be a part of the magic that is Bestival 2021!
Belmont Village Bestival is a free, two-day European-style street festival in Belmont Village – nestled between Kitchener and Waterloo – featuring a variety of Ontario artists' performances. The Village is comprised of three pedestrian-friendly blocks of charming businesses and interesting restaurants that spark the imagination. We celebrate the budding and percolating vibe of this tiny but vibrant space. Two main stages and several ground-level spaces come to life with a variety of artistic entertainment throughout the day. We also feature other street-level acts (eg. face painting, children's entertainers, visual artists, yoga) that pepper the experience. We intertwine musical and visual artistic disciplines throughout the day.
Bestival strives to provide a platform for local talent to express their art in an enthusiastic and supportive environment. While we bring in talent from all over Ontario, the bulk of our artists are homegrown. Bestival aims to blend art and music to foster a sense of magic in each performance. Bestival performances invite the audience members to actively engage and participate in the experience. Bestival breaks the outdated boundaries of art by providing innovative performances that bring people together. Regardless of age, gender or race, Bestival performances strive for inclusion and stronger community ties.
